Efficacy of Systolic Extinction Training for Fibromyalgia
Efficacy of Systolic Extinction Training (SET) in Fibromyalgia Patients with elevated Blood Pressure Response to Stress–A Tailored RCT Study K Thieme, T Meller, U Evermann, R Malinowski… - Arthritis Care & Research, 2018

A team of eight researchers working on this study that shows that SET resulted in statistically significant, clinically meaningful, and long-lasting pain remission and interference compared to the OT-TENS and AE-BRT. These results suggest that BRS modification was the primary mechanism of improvement. Replication with larger samples and extension to other chronic pain conditions appears to be warranted.


 

The Economic Impact: Optimum Timeline from Behavioral Therapies to Surgical Therapies in Response to Pain

This paper by Dr. CJ Rhoads explores a comprehensive list of pain management therapies and ranks them based on a variety of factors, most especially economic factors. While only preliminary, the result shows that healthcare economics values would dictate use of low-cost, high-effectiveness therapies before high-cost therapies. This paper was presented at the International Congress for Integrative Medicine and Health in Baltimore MD on May 5, 2018,

This poster session and workshop by Dr. CJ Rhoads introduces a mnemonic qigong that outlines the pain mechanism within the body, and the pain relieving steps that allow qigong practitioners to lower their pain levels.
